Description

A work in progress as more tanks will come and join this list.

For the GFA RP group :icongfa-headquarters:

1) KT-4 Omsha
-----------------------------
The very first heavy tank of the region, the former old Kandian tank designed in 1912 and used during the War of Hatred in 1915 sports a devastatingly powerful 80mm gun and thick armor plating that was near invulnerable for its time. The KT-4 still remains in active service in the Indoterran Republic's People's Ground Forces (PGF) as its principle heavy tank.

2) KT-4 Omsha Short 75mm HE Gun Variant
---------------------------------------------------
Developed by Indoterran guerillas during the War of Hatred by replacing the 80mm with a short barrelled 75mm gun designed to lob High Explosive shells, this variant is designed to be combat effective in urban environments against groups of enemy infantry in enclosed spaces. The HE gun also allows it to tackle enemy fortifications and occupied buildings.

3) V2 Meitroi
-----------------------------------
Developed by the former Synon Republic in 1912 after the success of their first tank, the V1 Meta, the V2 is a massive improvement over its predescessor with a proper turret, better engines and armor and a larger 40mm gun. The grandaddy of all tank designs of the region to come, the V2 would be considered obsolete by 1940 but would still remain in active service as Indoterra's medium tank while being slowly replaced by the newer and much more effective V5 Kopassus.

4) V2 Meitroi MG Variant
------------------------------------
Even if it is obsolete, it has since then became a favourite of the paramilitary People's Militisya forces. With the Militisya designed to be internal troops meant to safeguard public order, the V2's 40mm gun has been replaced with double 12.7mm heavy machine guns and its huge size makes it suitable for anti-riot operations by intimidating rioters while providing cover for advancing troops.

5) V3 Daishei
-----------------------------------
With the V2's size making it less effective in dense jungle terrain, the Synon Republic decided to this time focus on making a faster and lighter tank. The V3 Daishei was developed in 1914 for this purpose and is much more mobile and nimble allowing it to traverse difficult environments quickly at the expense of armor thickness. With a 30mm low velocity HE gun and hull-mounted machine guns, the V3s proved to be a very effective anti-infantry tank. Large numbers of refurbished V3s still remain in active with the PGF's Light Tank Corps, taking on recon and calvary roles. Production of this tank however has since stopped since 1935 as production switched to the far more advanced V4 Haishing light tank.

6) V3 Daishei MG Variant
---------------------------------
Absorbing an increasing amount of surplus V3s are the Militisya and reserve units, who see fit to further capitalize the V3's anti-infantry capabilities by replacing its 30mm gun with double 12.7mm machineguns and adding an additional machine gun on the turret. With this conversion, the V3 tank becomes an IFV of sorts and does well in the cramped streets and roads of Indoterran cities.

7) V4 Haishing
-------------------------------
A light tank developed by the Synon Republic in the twilight years of the war, only about 20 were successfully constructed before the Republic collapsed and taken over by Indoterran guerillas in 1918. Due to resource shortages after the war, production of V4s only commenced in 1935 when a military modernization program was initiated. Compared to the V3, the V4 is a massive technological and design improvement with a new caterpillar track design and a far superior engine giving unprecedented mobility for its time. It also mounts a new 30mm gun that can fire both AP and HE shells, making it a versatile unit capable of fighting against armor and infantry alike. In 1940, the V4 still only serves in the PGF in small numbers, deployed in special elite tank regiments.

8) V5 Kopassus
--------------------------------
A medium tank developed by the Synon Republic in the late years of the war, none were ever constructed in time before the Republic collapsed and the unfinished prototypes and blueprints were seized by Indoterran forces. Kept in reserve and built in very small numbers after the war, it was only in 1935 when the Indoterran military had the industrial capacity to start mass production of the V5. Following the V4's relatively revolutionary design, the V5 features a new caterpillar track system to traverse difficult terrain, a better engine allowing it good mobility and speed and a larger 50mm gun that can fire both AP and HE rounds enabling it to engage both armor and infantry alike. In 1940, V5s are gradually replacing the long obsolete V2s, but still mainly serve in elite tank regiments.
