Rise of the African Union Era

2033: The African Union (AU) forms a coalition with Russia, China and Singapore known as the Joint Nations Alliance. Singaporean scientists develop a serum that can genetically modify plants not only to take on immunity to disease, pests and resilience to environmental conditions, but ultimately able to produce greater amounts of bioenergy. This leads to the development of MaxiFuel, a type of biofuel that can be harvested from these modified plants (known as Syn Plants) and the serum to make Syn Plants and the ways to create MaxiFuel is supplied to the AU since they have the vast amount of land to farm enough biofuel sources. With China and Russia providing the bulk of military capability, and Singapore devising its technological and academic backbone, the AU and the JNA prospers into a world superpower as their MaxiFuel dominates the now oil-scarce energy market and the world thus depends on the AU for their energy, bringing tons of money for development and military rearmament.

2034: With Russia facing the European Union, China and Singapore influencing Asia and the colossal AU facing the Americas and the Middle East, the JNA becomes the leading world power, replacing the USA and the EU as they are left to struggle with war debts and military losses when the UN lost the UN-Africa War. Japan slowly recovers from the nuclear blast and the execution of the Imperial family and the Cabinet, but no longer enjoys the post-war cultural popularity they once had, shunned and isolated with little help from the US. Pressured and threatened by a rapidly successful Singapore as well as their shift towards adopting ‘Tanah Melayu Untuk Orang Melayu’ policy, a racist pro-malay idealogy, Malaysia restructures itself into the Grand Sultanate of Malay States.

2035: Military President Ahmed is assassinated along with his government, throwing the country into chaos as insurrectionist groups rose and divided the African Union. Ayman and the Alpha Lions were requested to help lead the loyalists and restore order, being the last of Ahmed’s cadre of commanders. They accepted and travelled to the capital, where they reorganized the remainder of the loyalist forces and retook the states conquered by the rebels. Crushing the opposition and playing the opposing insurgents against each other, the African Union was established and Ayman was made the new Military President. Seeing his chance to expand Singaporean glory, he accepted the position and used his power to transform the African Union into a massive cosmopolis, bringing in Singaporean experts, advisors and educators to initiate the transformation and Ayman implemented Singaporean-style policies and introduced Singaporean culture. The Africans became influenced by the new culture, first out of respect for their leader and then also because it provided the unity amongst the different African ethnic groups. Many Singaporeans also established defence and scientific industries there, expanding the AU’s military capability. Michelle also becomes pregnant with a second child.

2036: The Grand Sultanate of Malay States declares the Malay Archipelago to be rightfully under Malay territory and also claims that Singapore should be incorporated in with Malaysia as single Malayan state. Brunei accepts and joins but others do not. Malay forces then amass at the Causeway and launched a surprise rocket barrage on nearby residential areas, killing thousands and injuring many, including Michelle. Meanwhile, Ayman was in Singapore with a batch of AU troops to deliver a serum for a joint scientific project and was shocked of the news. He rushed to Michelle and injected her the serum, making her and the baby, later named Nikolai, the first superhuman shapeshifting Lucifers. Singaporean troops hold the Malay forces at bay while China intervenes since Singapore is a JNA ally, invading Malaysia from the north through Thailand. The Malay forces were pushed back and Chinese and Singaporean troops rushed in from two fronts, eventually destroying the Malaysian government, economy and military so bad that they would never recover in time. What was known as the Kumarian Skirmish was later celebrated in Singaporean and Chinese victory.

2037: Indonesia and the Phillipines joins the JNA for promise of technological help from the Singaporeans, cheaper MaxiFuel supplies from the AU, and military security from the Chinese and the Russians. North and South Korea then declared that their state of war has ended though they remain separate countries due to their differences in ideology. Both Koreas then join the JNA as well, becoming a sort of protectorate under China.

2038: Peace and Progress reins free and smooth for the nations of the JNA, alienating the US and the EU from the world stage. The Americas and the EU joined to form the Western Coalition, incorporating NATO as its military arm.

2039: The African Union completes its transformation projects, with water supplied to every city and settlement, desert sands made into lush farmlands and grass fields and a massive cosmopolis consisting of a network of urban cities. It becomes a cultural and economic powerhouse, becoming a hub of trade and knowledge between JNA members; with Russians, Chinese, Singaporeans, Indonesians and many other nationalities found there. Ayman also transformed and expanded its military, forming a large formidable naval fleet and an equipped and trained army. With peace, Ayman takes his job easy and pursues his university education in mechanical engineering and biomedical engineering, while maintaining a happy family and raising his children. The JNC engages its scientific agencies to look to the stars for possible interstellar travel and colonization.
